Background of the Guild
- Name: Saint Mary Magdalene Provincial Guild (referred to as “The Guild”).
- Nature: A women’s guild within the Anglican Church of Southern Africa (ACSA).
- Commemoration: Celebrates St Mary Magdalene’s Day on July 22.
- The Guild honors St Mary Magdalene, the first witness to the risen Christ, embodying healing, faith, and proclamation.
Vision
“To work together as baptised women as witnesses of the risen Christ.”

Mission / Objectives

- To proclaim the Kingdom of God as manifested in Jesus Christ and encourage evangelism.
- To align members with the Word of God and foster fellowship.
- To visit the sick, pray with and comfort the needy.
- To promote stewardship among members.
- To collaborate harmoniously with other guilds and ecumenical partners in the Anglican Church.
Who Can Join the Guild?
(From Section 7: Membership)
- Eligibility:
- Women aged 18 years and above.
- Must be in good standing with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.
- Open to all women, regardless of race, colour, or marital status.
- Entry Process:
- Apply for membership at the Parish level (cannot join directly at Diocese or Provincial levels).
- Serve a probation period of six (6) months.
- Be issued a membership card upon acceptance.
- Must pay annual membership subscription.
- Members inactive for three months without reason will lose membership.
- Readmission requires another three-month probation.
